This Saturday the 10/1’s had a tough game against a very slick, top of the table West Ryde Rovers team. Our girls went out firing in the first quarter and although we didn’t score any
goals, our awesome defence trio of Elicia, Kathryn and Mandy managed to limit the goals scored by Rovers to only 3! Unfortunately for us the Rovers got worried and stepped up a gear. Tanisha scored 2 goals and Skye 1 in the 2nd half of the game. There were many moments of brilliance by our girls with some strong attacking play by Alanah, Tarsha, Tanisha and Jyothi and great play by Genevieve and Mandy in WD. The final score was 22/3 to Rovers.
Kathryn was chosen as MVP this week and Mandy received our McDonalds award for a strong game in WD, Centre and WA.
Many thanks to Sharon Ross for scoring and to Pauline for covering our canteen duty.
Training is on this Thursday 5-6pm. Please let me know if you are unable to make it to training or the game. Next week we play St Kevin’s on Court 1. Skye will be our Captain!
On Sunday a very enthusiastic 10’s team played 7 games in the Cure Our Kids gala day down at
Meadowbank. We welcomed Elen, Diya, Simone and Alyssa from the 10/3’s into our team and the girls all worked beautifully together. Most of the teams were 10/1 teams from Pennant Hills comp. We played our best against some competitive teams and had lots of fun trying out a few unfamiliar positions. It was great to see such great sportsmanship from our girls. The puddles, mud, cold wind, rain and sun showers were interesting challenges for the girls but everyone
went home smiling at the end of the day! Thank you to everyone who allowed the
girls to participate in raising money for such a great cause!
