10/1's - Week 8
posted June 1, 2012 by Susan Brownlow - viewed 352 times
The
damp and slippery conditions at Brush Farm this morning made the court surface challenging
for both Villa and Comets. At times it was more like ice skating than netball.
Villa was able to start strongly and jump ahead from the Comets. Our 2 middle
quarters were our best today with a big improvement in defence. We tied the 2
nd
and won the 3rd quarter!!! Our Centre passes also showed improvement
from last week. Tarsha had a strong game in Centre and GD. Alanah worked hard
in WA and GD and received the McDonalds award today. Tanisha had 3 fabulous
quarters in GA and is really putting in 110% every game. She was chosen as MVP
(Most Valuable Player) today. We need to keep practicing that shooting and
working on team work in the circle. Tanisha =3 goals, Skye= 1 goal, Elicia=2
goals. Our final score was 11/6 to Villa.
Thank
you to our birthday girl, Jyothi for Captaining the team and Sharon Ross for
scoring today. It is great to see such wonderful supporters cheering on the
girls each week.
Next week we do NOT
have a game because of the long weekend but we will still be training on
Thursday 5-6pm.
Our Captain next game
will be Mandy. This will be 16
th
June on
Court 1 against St Gerards.
