Week 7 - 10/1's

This week the 10/1’s played
OLQP Gladesville. It was a freezing start to the day especially as the girls
had to have team photos before the game. We managed to get on the court with a
few minutes to spare however the Comets were behind from the start today. Too
many lobbed passes straight to the sure hands of OLQP saw us end the first
quarter down 1/3. Tanisha scored our only goal this quarter.
Although we have practiced
our defensive play at training, this definitely let us down today. We need to
defend the ball and stick on our players much better than we did this week. Our
shooters need to work together in the circle and get the passes away strongly.
We were getting opportunities for goals but could not score them in the second
quarter whilst OLQP scored another 3. Half time score 6/1 to OLQP.
The third quarter did
not improve for Comets and OLQP kept us from scoring while they added another 2
goals to their score. Our Centre passes definitely need to be stronger and more
accurate. There was some improvement in the last quarter and we managed to win
the quarter 2/0 with 2 goals from Tanisha. As soon as the girls stepped up the
defence and removed those weak lobs our game changed. Unfortunately it was too
late this week.
This week OLQP won 8/3
Tarsha was awarded the
team McDonald’s award for this week, for a good effort all game in WA and C.
Our MVP award this week went to Elicia.
Next week we play Villa
on Court 2. This will be the last game of the 1st round.
As we missed training last
week I would like to train for an extra half hour this week please! See you all
Thursday and shooters keep on shooting every day!
Jyothi will be our Captain
and can br
ing fruit or a treat for after the game.
