Hi everyone
Last Saturday saw the start of competition at Meadowbank Park. It was a very hot day!
I can't stress strongly enough to make sure that the girls have more water than you think they need. Please make sure that they have a large glass of water before they leave home and that they stay well hydrated for the rest of the day. No fizzy drinks please. Water or sports drinks are best.
Please make sure that you have sunscreen for before and during the game and a hat for before and after the game. They cannot wear a hat on the court, however, we have sunshades if you want to purchase them from our Uniform Coordinator (Jo) uniforms@carlingfordcomets.com.au There are also club hair ties, etc.
A good breakfast is also high on the list of important pre-game requirements followed by some fruit after the game. Coaches, please stretch and warm DOWN your girls after the game and ensure that they know to stay well hydrated for the remainder of the day.
My view on lollies is that they are best left at home! They provide a quick energy "high" followed by an even quicker energy "low". No lollies during the game please .... grrrr.
Wet Weather number is only for Saturdays. If it's raining at your place on Saturday morning ... don't assume netball is off. Call 1900 962 017 as that is the direct number the the ERNA wet weather line. It is best to simply turn up rather than guess.
Game Times - you need to arrive half hour PRIOR to the commencement of your game. Please allow plenty of time for parking/walking/finding your team. Meadowbank was congested on Saturday. Brush Farm is always horrible. Ryde Council Rangers are notorious for booking illegal parking.
Dogs - please leave your pooch at home. You can be ordered to leave the area as it is an offence to have a dog at either park.
Website Log Ins - If you don't have yours, please check your SPAM folder and if you still can't find it, email me: president@carlingfordcomets.com.au You need to be able to access your team contact list.
Uniforms - If you choose to wear bike shorts, please make sure that they are not seen below the hemline of your uniform. White socks, black scungees or black boy leg shorts - no bike pants please! Again ... contact Jo on uniforms@carlingfordcomets.com.au if you are in any doubt.
I hope that this is helpful for all our new players.
Have a safe and happy Easter.
Debbie
