Week 1 - 15/1's

Well ... that was an interesting game...

 

There are only 6 teams in this competition which means that we will play each team 3 times and that will prove unlucky for Santa next time because now that we've actually played a full game as a team, we all have a clearer perspective on our roles and what we need to work on.

It took me a while to work out who to put where as we have 3 new players in this team.  Welcome Saira, Chantel and Pei.  Your sterling determination saw you survive your first game and my warped sense of humour.  Saira went from ordinary to awesome in one game.  Chantel and Pei ... your confidence in your ability will improve ... trust me.   I was very pleased with your first game for Comets.  Terrific effort girls!

Of our seasoned Comet Vets, we had Clarissa off with injury, Jessica and Lucy battling illness but fortunately for us ... Sharron, Libby and Michaela were firing on all cyclinders.  Phew!!!

At half time I put Libby into shooting with Sharron,  Lucy into C and our game improved dramatically as our core 5 players from last year just did what was expected of them.  Michaela and Jessica were outstanding together.  They seemed to inspire and motivate each other.  The turnovers they got was the catalyst for a more unified effort and gave our sideline a glimmer of what will be ...

Seriously great work everyone.  Awesome effort from our 3 new players who will without a doubt, prove to be outstanding assets to this team.
